UCU statement

"I have spent many years as Professor and Dean of The Institute of Psychiatry and it distresses me that incompetent and callous KCL management is now so severely damaging it and its staff"

     -Sir Robin Murray

KCL management announced plans to make up to 120 academic staff at King's College London redundant, across the School of Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and the Institute of Psychiatry (IoP).

The most recent numers state that 57 staff are still at risk.

We strongly oppose these redundancies and are fighting back!

We are calling for an extended, more engaged consultation, with exhaustive exploration of alternatives and comprehensive assessment of the consequences on teaching and research.

During the IoP Dean's update on Monday 28th, we posted 57 reasons students oppose these redundancies along the walls.

See the pictures below!

We have over 5000 signatures on our petition (thank you !) - now help us hit 5,500!

More and more people, across the world, are speaking out against the destructive and callous nature of these proposals.

For those new to these events, or wanting a quick summary, check out out "story so far" page.

Please sign the petition, spread the word and support us in saving our staff!
